As I was browsing through all of the blogs I follow over on Bloglovin, I am sitting there with over 1000 different posts that are unread. It’s been about a week since I’ve played catch-up. I’ve even been really bad at my own blog – which isn’t anything totally new. Anyways, there’s a lot of 5-11 posts on a single blog. Understandable for a week of not logging into my Bloglovin and sitting down going through them all. And then, I land on one… 58 different posts… in a week? Are you serious? Obviously I was not going through all 58 blog posts! That is just ridiculous. That’s where a pet peeve of mine comes in when it comes to blogging. I really prefer to read the blogs that are “real” and about real people and their real lives. I don’t care about the 99 thousand different reviews and giveaways. Yes, some giveaways are nice but it’s gotten to the point that it’s practically impossible to win anything anymore. I might as well play the lotto and take my chances there. Reviews, yeah, I do them, but I don’t do about 20 in a single day, and I don’t WANT to do 20 in a single day. I review REAL products that I use (with the occasional forced entry from places like Influenster). But, in all fairness, I post about life, I post pictures of my kids and I’m just myself. Do I want 800+ followers? Ofcourse I do! Do I need them? Nope.. and chances are, if you have that many followers, you likely aren’t having them all read your blog anyway, you’ve earned them through giveaways, not by being yourself and being purely you.
Is anyone else overwhelmed with all of the blogs out there that do nothing but reviews and giveaways? Where are the life stories? Where are the funny comical posts about your kids? How are your kids growing and what are they learning? These are the type of bloggers I want to get to know! I am finding myself unfollowing people on BlogLovin. I am following a TON of blogs, and most have gone from real life posts to nothing but reviews and giveaways. So, it’s time to clean house and pull out all of the weeds. If you have favorite blogs that are about someone’s real life stories and isn’t trying to earn their following through nothing but giveaways, then PLEASE post! I love finding new blogs to read and getting to know others!
Okay, vent mostly over now! I was just dumbfounded by the amount of posts people can do in a single week.
